STAFF

Thanks go out to the entire staff of the L.R. Appleman Elementary School. Special thanks go to Mr. Scheid, our principal, who keeps informed as to the developements of this special day, and who also cooks lunch in the park for the entire school!
Thanks also to the office staff, especially Elaine Myers and Dixie Rosencrans, for finding all those clipboards, pens, scissors, and the bullhorn. Not so easy, considering the major renovation our school endured last year!
Thank you, Sandra Fritz and Terri Castle, for bandaging those booboos!
Special thanks to Bob Campbell (pictured behind Mr. Scheid in the photo), who set up tables, cones, flags, etc., and reassured us that ANYBODY could figure out how to use the line maker!
Thanks as well to the Benton PTC for supplying us with cups, Ice Pops, Handi-Wipes, and water balloons, as well as the use of coolers and jugs. Special thanks to Susan Conner, treasurer, who had patience while I went shopping, gave her the receipt, and at the last minute had to go out again because I had forgotten water balloons!






PARENT VOLUNTEERS

Parents...Without their support, there may not even BE a Field Day.
Planning, organizing, funding (via the Benton PTC), filling water balloons, handing out cups of water and Ice Pops, being in charge of event stations... It's all parent-run!
Extra special thank you's go to Michelle Ackley, who turned over the organization of this special day to me this year. If she had said how much work was REALLY involved, I might not have been so eager to take over! Also to Karen Downs, who helped so much in the organization and phone calls, took most of the pictures on this page, and who, with Lynn Middleton, helped mark out the playing field in "almost" straight lines!
